Research On Landscape Space Design Of Old-age Community Based On Multi-sensations

Because of the reason that the aging problem becoming more and more serious,the old-age community attracts more attention,and so does landscape environment because it holds the senior's daily life.However,the design of the landscape environment in China has a late starter,and such design for the community is limited to provide basic living space and to meet the safety requirements.In recent years,foreign designers have introduced the design concept based on five sensations,which has founded a new research field and design approach for landscape.People explorer the environment by multiple senses,and the senior has different sensory needs compare with the youth.Therefore,our research digs into the design strategy of multiple sensation landscape to promote the physical and mental health and increase social activities of the elderly for increasing their happiness and sense of identity.This paper begins with the contradiction between the present situation of the old-age community and the multiple sensory needs of the elderly.It summarizes the present situation at home and abroad and relevant concepts of the landscape design of the multiple senses of the old-age community,and then acknowledged the limits and deficiencies of the relevant research to reveal the purpose and significance of this project.Then,we investigate the psychological,activity and sensor characteristics and needs of the elderly from three old-age community and summarize the characteristics of the elderly to the landscape of the multiple sensory needs.In order to further understand the relationship between the multiple sensations of the elderly and the landscape elements of the old-age community,we analyze the effects of the different landscape elements to the sensor of the elderly and thus affects their psychology and behavior,which provides a theoretical basis for us to explore how to promote the elderly to participate in outdoor activities by landscape design of the old-age community.We analyze two cases in foreign countries which does well and learn many good practices.Then we point out the deficiencies of domestic design.Finally,according to above,we summarized design principles and strategies,and find out a conclusion.We hope this paper could make the design theory of the multiple sensation integrate into the design of the old-age community landscape,and construct a comfortable,healthy,and joyful old-age community landscape environment,so that the elderly who have contributed their youth to the social development living a pleasant old life.
