The governance of overload vehicles in our country has gained a stage achievement,but the phenomenon of overload has not fundamentally curbed and traffic congestion caused by overload detection occurs frequently.Therefore,adapting a reasonable method to optimize the management of overload vehicles and ease road congestion at the same time as completing the overload detection,which has become a problem needed to be urgently addressed.Based on the adaptive overload control technology,the paper proposes a threshold control model of dynamic overload detection that controls overload vehicles dynamically according to the traffic flow,which is of great significance to alleviating traffic congestion and improving the efficiency of weigh stations.In view of the traffic congestion caused by overload detection,the adaptive overload control technology is deeply researched.The operation principle and theory model of adaptive overload control technology are analyzed.Based on analyzing the data of truck load in different freeway sections,the values of each parameter in the theory model of adaptive overload control technology is presented.With analyzing the operating characteristics of vehicles in weigh station,the vehicle queuing model is determined by queuing theory.In order to improve the technical model,starting condition of the model of adaptive overload control technology is determined based on the length of unchecked lane and the maximum capacity of queuing system.In the meantime,the threshold control model of dynamic overload detection is developed,considering the starting condition of the model of adaptive overload control technology.According to the actual traffic conditions of section,the position of pre-detection system and detectors of the threshold control model are determined.Finally,the VISSIM simulation model is based on the traffic data of a toll station in Tianjin.The model of adaptive overload control technology,the threshold control model of dynamic overload detection as well as the model of fixed threshold are applied to the weigh station and the application effect of threshold control model is verified by contrasting and analyzing the operation status of vehicles.
