Most of the reinforced concrete bridge components in the actual service process have cracks because of the heavy traffic becoming increasingly serious. The crack makes the concrete protective layer can’t protect the rebar. For this reason, the speed of corrosion medium touching rebar is getting fast when the component is suffering from the rain or the ocean environment. Therefore, improving corrosion resistance is the good solution for the problem. The epoxy-coated steel bar and the galvanized steel bar are widely used in earlier years. These steel bars have not been using in the design and construction field and also have not been studied frequently. The aim of this paper is to study the corrosion resistance of the epoxy-coating steel bar and the galvanized steel bar.The bearing capacity and fatigue performance of the components which have epoxy-coating steel bar and galvanized steel bar inside is also the purpose of the tests. For the tests,we designed three types of component. And having these components suffering simulated environmental corrosion, static loading test and fatigue loading test.Mechanical properties and corrosion resistance mechanism of two kinds of corrosion resistant steel bars are summarized, and fatigue loading of simulated heavy load traffic is analyzed based on existing heavy load traffic research results. This paper analyzes and compares the performance of two kinds of corrosion resistant steel bar components and ordinary steel bar components.According to the tests results, the properties, the ultimate bearing capacity, the fatigue life, the failure mode, the stress-strain and bending stiffness of all kinds of components are compared under the same corrosion condition. It is concluded that the increase of the durability of galvanized steel bar and epoxy-coated steel bar is compared with that of ordinary steel bar. Finally, the mechanical properties, and stiffness of two kinds of corrosion resistant steel bars applied to concrete members are analyzed and compared. Conclusions are as follows:First of all,the effect of corrosion on the static load carrying capacity of reinforced concrete beams is not obvious. In particular, two kinds of corrosion resistant steel bars are almost unaffected.Secondly, the negative impact caused by the corrosion of reinforcing steel bars is highlighted under the fatigue load.Among them, the fatigue strength of the test beams of epoxy-coated steel bars and other test beams are different. In the fight against environmental corrosion, the epoxy-coated steel is the best, and the galvanized steel is the second. To summarize, these consequences can provide some reference for the design and construction of the actual bridge component. |
