In recent years,the congestion of mixed weaving sections of urban roads with various kinds of vehicles becomes the main source of congestion in urban traffic lines or urban district and the main point of traffic control.This traffic congestion not only seriously affects the road traffic efficiency,but also poses a serious threat to personal and property security of the relevant traffic participants,so it has become the focus of attention and urgent problem to be solved.Such traffic congestion is quite obvious and typical in the roads at the gate of the elementary or middle schools,hospitals,as well as some vegetable markets in the city center areas or the old urban districts and other units where peak and valley traffic flow is more significant.In this paper,the traffic flow of the roads at the gate of elementary or middle schools was studied,which is the most typical representative of the mixed weaving sections of urban roads with various kinds of vehicles.A comprehensive simulation model of road traffic flow at the entrance of elementary or middle schools was established based on the characteristics of road traffic system and traffic flow of the roads at the gate of elementary or middle schools.The optimization of traffic organization of the roads at the gate of elementary or middle schools was analyzed and studied and the validity and reliability of the model and optimization measures was verified which provides reference and decision support for specific traffic management and similar traffic problems.The main work of this paper is summarized as follows:(1)Analysis of traffic system of the roads at the gate of elementary or middle schools.On the basis of analyzing the composition,types of traffic flow,and the characteristics of traffic congestion and the necessity of optimization of traffic organization in the mixed weaving sections of urban roads with various kinds of vehicles,the traffic system of the roads at the gate of elementary or middle schools was systematically analyzed,and a series of preliminary preparation and basic work of the optimization of traffic organization were summarized,such as the characteristics of traffic flow,the cause of congestion,the basic requirements of microscopic simulation,the feasibility of the optimization of traffic organization and so on,which lays the foundation for the establishment of simulation platform,the optimization of traffic organization and the simulation experiment.(2)Establishment of comprehensive simulation model of traffic flow of the roads at the gate of elementary or middle schools.Combining the types and characteristics of traffic flow and traffic participants of the roads at the gate of elementary or middle schools,the advantages and disadvantages of cellular automaton model(CAM)and social force model(SFM)in microscopic simulation were considered synthetically and a comprehensive simulation platform of mixed and interwoven traffic flow was established.The simulation rules of simulation object and the rule of interweave interference were established,and the boundary rule of simulation object was defined.Then the microscopic simulation platform was established for the optimization of traffic organization.(3)The optimization of traffic organization analysis of the roads at the gate of elementary or middle schools.The principles,precautions and main forms of the optimization of traffic organization of the roads at the gate of elementary or middle schools were demonstrated by two aspects of static and dynamic optimization of traffic organization.And the characteristics and the effect of various kinds of optimization of traffic organization were expounded.The effect evaluation indicators of the roads at the gate of elementary or middle schools were determined by the principles of the optimization of traffic organization effect evaluation indicators,which can provide the basis for the optimization of traffic organization.(4)Comprehensive simulation and the optimization of traffic organization experiment.Different types of organization and optimization measures were put forward for different levels of the roads at the gate of schools combined with the example of going and leaving school traffic flow of elementary or middle schools in Tianjin.The reliability of comprehensive simulation platform and traffic organization optimization plans was verified though the comparing of optimization results by the spatial and temporal evolution maps,frame maps and data obtained by simulation experiment.
