The high level of automation and informatization are required in complex manufacturing systems as a shipyard.Presently,blocks construction is the important part in the smart shipyard construction.And one of the most expressive problem identified in the shipyard was the materials management,which mainly relies on manual recording and processing the information.Thus,the accuracy and the timeliness of data cannot be guaranteed.With the advancement of technology and lowering costs,Radio Frequency Identification(RFID)systems have become more viable for industrial applications in auto parts and aircraft parts.In this paper,RFID-based block materials tracking management system was developed to improve block materials management informatization.Firstly,this paper introduced RFID technology and its working principles.Secondly,the application of RFID-based indoor localization algorithm to locate block materials has been verified by the tests in shipyard.After analyzing the defects of block materials management,this paper proposed a method which is using RFID tags to record parts information.Different RFID readers and reference tags were layout in different manufacturing areas in block construction workshop.Thirdly,depends on block construction flow and requirements,materials tracking management system is divided into five parts,including login module,manufacturing management module,storage yard management module,materials localization tracking module and worker information management module.Based on the E-R model of the database system,the database table was designed.Finally,NetBeans IDE and Java DB were chosen to develop the system and database while Java was chosen to develop the software.All the login interface,block schedule interface,parts process interface,section welding interface,storage yard management interface,materials location tracking interface and work information management interface consist of the system.
