With the rapid development of China's transportation industry,various types of long-span bridges emerge as the times require.During the construction of long-span bridges,steel structure bridges,especially orthotropic steel box girder cable-stayed bridges or suspension bridges,have become the preferred bridge type.Steel box girder cable-stayed bridge or suspension bridge has the characteristics of beautiful bridge type,light weight,factory fabrication site assembly,relatively short construction period,so it is favored by owners and design units.But,asphalt pavement on steel box girder bridge deck has become a worldwide engineering problem due to the particularity of working environment of steel box girder bridge deck pavement.The main problems are as follows: high working temperature of steel bridge deck pavement causes high temperature diseases such as sliding and rutting;insufficient bonding strength of bonding layer causes slippage and spalling;negative bending moment and cracking disease caused by large deformation at the top of rib plate of pavement.These destructive phenomena have seriously affected the comfort of passing vehicles and the capacity of bridges,reduced the efficiency of economic operation and caused unnecessary economic losses.Based on the Shinan Second Bridge as a supporting project,through the investigation of the use of asphalt pavement on orthotropic slab steel bridge deck in Foshan area,combined with the comprehensive analysis of cost,construction period,construction convenience and maintenance convenience,the epoxy binder + double-layer SMA scheme is selected as the asphalt pavement on the steel bridge deck of Shinan Second Bridge.The feasibility of using epoxy binder and double-layer SMA as asphalt pavement design scheme for Shinan Second Bridge steel deck is further demonstrated by finite element calculation and material test.This paper mainly carries out research work on the following contents:1.Based on the technical and economic comparison and comprehensive analysis of various steel deck pavement systems,the design scheme of epoxy binder + double-layer SMA for steel deck asphalt pavement of Shinan Second Bridge is put forward through data collection and field investigation.2.The mechanical calculation model of epoxy binder + double-layer SMA steel deck pavement is established,and the mechanical analysis and calculation are carried out by using finite element theory and ANSYS large-scale program.3.Technical requirements for bonding layer and SMA material are put forward according to mechanical analysis and calculation results.4.The main materials of epoxy binder + double-layer SMA steel deck pavement scheme are tested in laboratory,and the key technology of material composition design to meet the design requirements is put forward.5.The construction technology and quality control points of epoxy binder + double-layer SMA steel deck pavement scheme are put forward.The research results in this paper provide another feasible scheme for asphalt pavement of steel bridge deck in hot and rainy areas,and provide useful engineering reference for similar steel bridge deck pavement design.
