With the development of navigation system, intelligent navigation put forward a higher requirement to precision of electronic map.Road network model is the fundamental of navigation function,it's important to research on road network model which exactly expresses the connectivity of real traffic condition. This paper designed a model which can express the lane-level precision and the multiscale characteristic of road network, aiming to fill the requirement of intelligent navigation, studied the building technique of this model and explore the feasibility on the navigation application.First, the requirements of path planning and guidance to the model are analyzed. The methods to express geometry topology, network topology and multiscale characteristic of road network are discussed. On this basis, designed a model which basses on dual network and has three levels of road, carriageway and lane, and designed its conceptual model and logical model.Second, building technique of every level is studied. This paper designed an algorithm to extract the center line of road based on the topology of block polygon and building methods of road level network. Then, designed an algorithm to build the carriage level road network which can express one-way,turn penalties and prohibitions according the road centerline and semantics one-way data.At last, this paper analyzed the characteristic of road makings, designed the building algorithm of lane-level network which node unit is lane segment. Finally, based on the theory research and building technique, with the ArcGIS Engine and.Net development environment, this paper developed program to realize the building of model and apply on the simulation of path planning of navigation.
