With the continuous reduction of global oil reserves,major automobile manufacturers have been increasing investment and promotion of new energy vehicles.Along with the increasing output of new energy vehicles,the number of traffic accidents have also increased,on account of the new energy vehicles equipped with high quality and high energy power battery,there are risks of battery short circuit and fire in the collision,Therefore,collision safety of new energy vehicles has attracted extensive attention.This paper take a domestic miniature electric vehicle as the research object,in order to solve the problem of irregularities of side collision,the safety performance of side impact has been optimized by finite element simulation and real vehicle crash.Firstly,simulation model based on the test was built and analyzed from the structure of crashworthiness,occupant injury and electric safety,key parts of the electric vehicle intrusion volume,intrusion speed,dummy damage,and the deformation of the battery pack in the collision has been determined.In order to reduce the dummy damage,transmission path,the energy distribution and sensitivity of the dummy chest was analyzed,key components that mostly effect dummy chest was screened.Then using the design method of Latin hypercube experiment,the key components of material and thickness was optimized,three approximate models of response are established,the highest accuracy response surface approximation model was chosen instead of simulation model,using the multi-objective optimization NSGA-II to optimize the key components of material and thickness;finally,vehicle on side impact test was developed according to the optimal scheme,the test results before and after optimization show that the optimized dummy chest pressure was significantly reduced,the damage indexes meet the requirements,the power battery of the electric vehicle in the collision was not extruded and fired.Therefore,the research in this paper has achieved the goal of improving the vehicle side impact safety while vehicle weight remains unchanged.The results of this paper can provide reference for the development of other new energy vehicles.
