| Floating ring bearing has the advantages of small size,simple structure,low wear,high efficiency,good stability,easy to manufacture and low cost,etc.It is widely used in high-speed rotating machinery,such as high speed engines,turbochargers,etc.At present,the research on the floating ring bearing relies mainly on the empirical data,which has significant limitations.Therefore,it is very important to establish a simulation model for the floating ring bearing to study its lubrication characteristics.Also,it is significant to improve the reliability of the equipment and prolong the service life of the mechanical equipment.In this paper,a mathematical model of the floating ring bearing is established based on the hydrodynamic lubrication theory and the floating ring bearing structural features.Lubrication static characteristics of the floating ring bearing are studied by using CFD.Besides,a dynamic mesh model is developed by the Gambit software,and the model is simulated using FLUENT solver and its UDF interface.As results,the inner and outer oil film pressure distribution under different conditions are obtained,and the effects of rotational speed,fuel supply pressure and cavitation pressure on the static lubricating characteristic,such as side leakage,friction force etc are analyzed.Particularly,the characteristics of the floating ring bearing under starved conditions are investigated in-depth,and a theoretical analysis on starved lubrication is made.The influencing factors and the degree on the starved lubrication are analyzed and the influence law is found on floating ring bearing lubrication static characteristics in different degree of Starved lubrication.In this paper,a mathematical model of the floating ring bearing has been established and the floating ring bearing lubrication theory has been enriched and a simulation model of inner and outer oil film of floating ring bearing has been established by using CFD,the lubrication characteristics of the floating ring bearing under different working conditions has been studied in depth,the effects of different parameters on the characteristics of the floating ring bearing have been explained.What I have done can provide parameter control basis for improving the lubrication condition of floating ring bearing. |
