Research On Chinese Painting Elements In Pei Architectural Works

With the rapid development of the era,the modern architecture are rising abruptly out of the ground.But at the same time,the buildings with national characteristics are slowly disappearing,so more and more attention should be paid to the national characteristics of buildings.Fortunately,Chinese painting is a carrier of art and culture with national characteristics,and exhibits Chinese resplendent art history.From Tang,Song,Yuan,Ming and Tsing dynasty to now,Chinese painting has experienced several stages of development and change,and is continuously growing up and plentiful.I.M.Pei,who is a famous Chinese architect,perfectly blended Chinese painting elements into modern architectural design,which is the combination of old and new,and also is the product of combining the tradition with the modern.This paper mainly studies the Chinese painting elements in I.M.Pei's architectural works.The first chapter describes the expression form and highly advanced artistry of Chinese painting elements in Pei's architectural works,including visual art,plastic art and painting art.The combination of the two makes buildings have a new significance.Chapter two discusses the causes for the integration of Chinese painting elements into the Pei's work,which include the national characteristics,the surrounding environment of the buildings,the local culture and so on.As we see,it conforms to the architectural design concept of I.M.Pei that the artistry and culture of Chinese painting elements are put into buildings.In the third chapter,we analyze the applications of Chinese painting elements in Suzhou Museum,Fragrant Hill Hotel and Miho Museum.In chapter four,we summarize the relationship between the elements of Chinese painting in Pei's works and aesthetic,as well as the influence of traditional culture and modern architecture.The Chinese painting elements in Pei's works play an important role in modern buildings,and make the buildings are identified.Exactly,it is not only the performance of traditional culture and historical culture,but also the performance of national characteristics.Through the study of I.M.Pei's works,we find that the Chinese paintingelements,such as painting,composition,scattered perspective and so on,have been integrated into architectures.Moreover,it increases the aesthetic,humanism and artistry of buildings,glorifies the environment of buildings,and also has a positive impact on the design.
