Internal combustion engine is one of the most universal power machinery,it has the characteristic of compact,powerful,as well as good adaptability.Because of internal combustion engine contains many mating components,it has a general phenomenon of friction and wear,which produce a great impact on the power and economic performance of internal combustion engine.Nano additive oil has excellent reducing-friction and anti-wear properties which becomes more obviously in situation of high temperature and high pressure.Apply nano additive oil to internal combustion engine not only can reduce the mechanical loss caused by friction,but also can decrease the wear of the components,thus increase the service life of Internal combustion engine.In order to study the effect of nano additive oil to engine performance,the following work will be carried out:?1?Oleic acid was used as surfactant to surface modification of nano Al2O3 and TiO2 materials,help to disperse stably in the 5W-30 oil.In order to investigate the stability and liquidity of the nano Al2O3 and TiO2 oil,UV-vis spectrophotometry,dynamic light scattering?DLS?and viscometer were used to measure absorbance,particle size,intensity distribution,viscosity and viscosity index;?2?An engine cylinder liner-piston ring test bed with crank connecting rod mechanism was built according to the American society for testing and materials standard ASTM G181-11.Many research were accomplished to study the friction and wear characteristics and mechanism of liner-piston ring friction pairs at different concentration,different speed,different load and different sliding distance;?3?With the purpose of study the effect of nano additive oil to characteristics of liner-piston ring pairs,a cylinder and piston simulation model was built to measure the asperity friction force,hydrodynamic friction force and mechanical power loss of liner-ring pairs in one cycle under different lubrication regime;?4?Guarantee engine working conditions are the same,only change the lubricant,AVL engine test bench and nano Al2O3 and TiO2 oil were applied to DG16 gasoline engine to study the effect of nano additive oil to the power and economic performance of engine.Results show that nano additive oil have the best reducing-friction and anti-wear features while mass fraction is 0.25%,nano Al2O3 oil have excellent anti-wear effect and nano TiO2 oil have excellent reducing-friction effect;nano Al2O3 and TiO2oil can reduce engine mechanical losses by 2.2%and 3%respectively,increase the power by 3.2%and 3.9%,increase the torque by 3.7%and 4%,showed that applying nano additive oil to engine has good prospects.
