Gas spring is an industrial fitting with the functions of support,buffering,braking,height and angle adjustment.Compared with ordinary spring,gas spring has the advantages of done relatively slow speed,dynamic force tending to constant and easy to control etc.and thus it is applied more and more widely.S company is a professional manufacturer of gas spring,with nearly 20 years of production history of gas spring.In recent years,with the aggravation of the market competition and the higher requirements of the users,the quality of the gas spring products has become a bottleneck restricting the development of enterprises.In order to meet the rising demand of users,and to win the competition in the market,the company must improve the production process and promote the quality of the products.This article launches the research by this,which aim is to improve the production process by strengthening the quality control of the production process,and finally achieve the goal to greatly improve the quality of the gas spring.The main work of this article is as follows:1.Based on the comprehensive investigation and Analysis for the gas spring quality status of S company,the failure modes and effects analysis of compressed gas spring production process are implemented,the evaluation criterions of severity,occurrence and detection for gas spring production are developed,and with the criterions,each operation is evaluated by QC group,and according to the analysis results,the corresponding countermeasures are worked out.2.With the application of SPC method,the statistical analysis is carried out for the key operations of gas spring production process,to find out the physical cause of the failure and the corresponding improvements are fulfilled.As a result,the process capability improved significantly,the process is in a controlled state,the requirements of process quality has been able to meet.In the process,the process capability of count value is studied,and the error of the calculation formula of process capability index CP presented in some paper is founded,and a correct calculation method of CP for count value is provided.3.For the two important operations in the process of gas spring assembly —— cleaning operation and autophoresis coating operation,the process parameters were optimized by means of orthogonal experiment.The result shows that the quality of the optimized operations is obviously improved with the original productivity,which providing important support for the quality improvement of compressed gas spring product.4.The quality improvement of the gas spring is verified by the sampling inspection of constant temperature force value and force value after the constant temperature endurance test,the result shows that the performance indexes of gas spring is far higher than the national standard requirements.All of these show that Quality control and quality improvement of production process with modern quality management tools is an effective method to improve product quality and enhance the competitiveness of enterprises,therefore,it must be carried out continuously.
