Promoting rural construction, preserving rural regionalism is the foundation, and traditional materials are the most direct and accurate reflection of regionalism.Traditional materials are friendly to the rural environment and are widely used in the construction of traditional villages. However, due to the development of The Times, the construction methods and materials of architecture are constantly updated, and the natural local materials and traditional techniques are gradually unable to meet the aesthetic and use needs of contemporary people, and face the dilemma of elimination. How to optimize traditional materials through modem new technologies and means,so that they can be continued in the contemporary rural areas,is a question worthy of our consideration. This paper takes the two materials wood and thatch used in Shatou village rural book house as the research object, and looks for a set of methods that can be promoted and applied in the contemporary rural practice through the research on the contemporary thatch technology under the strategy of modern prefabricated wood structure and low technology.Based on this theory, the paper optimizes the thatch roof and modern prefabricated wooden structure in the project, solves the technical problems in the construction, and proves that the promotion and application of "modern prefabricated wooden structure"and "contemporary thatch technology under low-technology strategy" in contemporary rural practice is reasonable, feasible and appropriate. The author participated in the whole project from the initial general drawing planning to the subsequent monomer building design, and completed the program design, landscape, interior design and other works of the rural library, during which the design was optimized by the wood structure company and the local construction party. The design embodies the three characteristics of contemporary construction, regional ecology and integrated design. In the whole construction process, the strategy of adapting measures to local conditions is adopted as far as possible in terms of spatial form, architectural material selection and construction technology, which fully expresses the respect for the natural ecological pattern of the countryside. In the era of the rise of rural construction,it is of great significance to make buildings more regional, more local and more integrated into the environment. In contemporary rural practice, the role played by architects is to connect the role of rural and contemporary. It is always necessary to respect the rural context and respect the rural context as the premise,to think about the materials, technologies and forms involved in rural construction, and to provide new local technologies and means and endow new local evaluation. The first chapter of this paper mainly from the design requirements of the rural library project put forward the thesis topic:contemporary rural practice research of thatch and wood. And the research significance, research status, thesis framework is introduced in detail The second chapter analyzes the existing technology of wood and thatch, summarizes the dilemma of traditional technology and the characteristics of modern prefabricated wood structure technology and contemporary thatch technology. The third chapter summarizes the characteristics of the application of modem prefabricated wooden structure and low technology thatch in rural practice and the corresponding rural problems. The fourth chapter introduces the design of rural library architecture, interior and landscape. The emphasis is the practical feedback of the theoretical research in the previous chapter, and the application of the modern prefabricated wood structure and the contemporary thatch technology in the project is elaborated. The fifth chapter is the display of design results.
