Vehicle lightweight is of great importance to the development of auto-mobile manufacturing technology.The light weight of heavy commercial vehicles contribute to reduce rolling resistance,improve vehicle carrying capacity,save energy and driving comfortability of vehicles.The quality coefficient of mainstream trucks in Europe and the United States is 1.6-1.8.The quality utilization coefficient of domestic corresponding models is 1.3-1.5.There is a lot of room for improvement in the lightweight of domestic trucks.From the perspective of automobile production,lightweight design can reduce the production cost of automobiles,improve the design capability of domestic automobiles,and improve the market competitiveness.The frame is the main bearing component of heavy commercial vehicles with whose quality accounts for 5% to 10% of the total vehicle quality.In terms of vehicle lightweight,the effect of frame lightweight is the most effective way.Based on the analysis of the actual working conditions of heavy commercial vehicles,the paper analyzes and proves that the method of lightweight commercial vehicles is feasible through specific lightweight cases.The main research work of the paper is as follows:Firstly,the paper begins with the analysis of the development status of technology at home and abroad and determines the main research direction of the paper.Then the design analysis of a heavy duty commercial vehicle frame is carried out.The paper analyzes the composition of the frame system,the working condition and stress of the frame,the analysis of the design scheme of the frame,the calculation of bending moment of the frame,the design of the longitudinal beam and beam of the frame and the selection of materials,and establishes a three-dimensional model of the frame.The paper makes a detailed analysis from several aspects of the frame such as the composition of the frame system,the working condition and stress of the frame,the analysis of the design scheme of the frame,the calculation of bending moment of the frame,the design of the longitudinal and transverse of the frame and the selection of materials.At the same time,a three-dimensional model of the frame is established.Secondly,the finite element analysis model of the frame is established,and the model is adjusted and the key parts such as connection are treated.Then the paper analyzes the strength and stiffness of the frame.Finally,the designed frame was optimized with Optistruct software,and the optimized frame lost 213 kg,a decrease of 27 %.The optimized frame lost 213 kg of weight and a drop of 27%.Finally,the optimized frame model was tested from bending rigidity,torsional rigidity and modal,and the results showed that the optimized frame met the design requirements of the vehicle.Through the research of the paper,we established the basic analysis steps of modeling and optimization of heavy commercial vehicles.By using the software of Hypermesh and OptiStruct,we have carried on the frame optimization analysis to the specific vehicle model.OptiStruct are studied and used,and frame optimization analysis is carried out for specific models,and lay a foundation for the product development.
