Long span prestressed concrete continuous frame bridge has been widely used in highway engineering. So far in constructing it almost only common concrete has been adopted, which has restricted the development of continuous frame bridge because of heavy density. High-strength lightweight concrete apparently has the advantage over common concrete in constructing long span bridge, yet it's only on the threshold of its research and application. Although the technique of designing and constructing common concrete continuous frame bridge has been well commanded, the arts and crafts of designing and constructing long span concrete continuous frame bridge need further research when using high-strength lightweight concrete since it has a lot of difference from common concrete in material properties. In this thesis, respectively using common concrete and high-strength lightweight concrete, continuous frame bridges with three kinds of main span, 120m, 200m and 250m, have been experimentally designed, their geometry dimension of superstructure and setting style of prestressed bars have been optimized, the static and dynamic properties of the whole structures and the three-dimensional stress where common concrete combine with high-strength lightweight concrete have been analyzed. By comparing analyzing, the similarities and differences in the construct characteristic of continuous frame bridge with these two different materials have been commanded, and reasonable advice on high-strength lightweight concrete continuous frame bridge have been suggested in the paper.
