Owing to these advantages of orthotropic steel bridge deck such as light weight,larger ultimate bearing capacity,convenient transportation and erection as well as short construction period,it has become the first choice for long-span bridge decks in the word.But these problems about bridge deck cracking and pavement layer damage under the action of overloaded vehicles repeatedly have been troubled in engineering and academic word.In order to solve the two kinds of diseases problem,an innovation orthotropic bridge deck system with double corrugated steel was presented.The paper was based on the background of Hangrui Highway Dongting Lake Bridge,the new orthotropic bridge deck is analyzed about overall and local stress performance as well as the main parameters for the optimization analysis by Midas Civil and ABAQUS.The paper main research content and conclusions include:1)The whole finite element bridge model was established on Midas Civil,overall mechanical properties are compared for the traditional and new type orthotropic steel bridge deck,It is concluded that new steel bridge deck used in the Hangrui Highway Dongting Lake Bridge is suitable,which laid a foundation for the subsequent discussions of the local stress performance.2)The local linear elastic finite element model of the traditional and new type orthotropic steel bridge deck was established based on ABAQUS.By means of the analysis,the deflection and stress of new steel bridge deck are less than deflection and stress of the traditional steel bridge deck,distribution effect of the new steel bridge deck is better.Especially after placing the RPC structure layer in the new steel bridge deck,deflection decline rate of asphalt pavement is 27.17%so that the deflection distribution is more uniform in transverse;The stress decline rate is as high as 69.78%,the stress decrement of asphalt pavement transfers to the RPC layer so that reducing the stress concentration degree.3)In order to further study local mechanical properties of the new steel bridge panel after placing the RPC structure layer,the local nonlinear finite element model of the new type orthotropic steel bridge deck was established on ABAQUS.Including material nonlinearity of the RPC structure layer,the double corrugated steel plate and shear stud,and considering contact nonlinear of the interface between the double corrugated steel plate and RPC structure layer.The results of the study shows that within linear-elastic stage,whether considering interface slip effect is not obvious influence on bearing capacity of structure,Within nonlinear-elastic stage,whether considering interface slip effect significantly influence on load bearing capacity of structure.The double corrugated steel plate and RPC can work coordinately well.4)These main design parameters of the steel roof and stiffener of new steel bridge panel were optimized.Under the condition that in the guarantee fine structure stress performance and material consumption,the best thickness of steel roof is 16 mm,the best height of steel roof is 120 mm,the best spacing of steel roof peak is 800 mm;The best thickness of stiffener is 14 mm,the best height of stiffener is 220 mm,providing a reference for the further research and design of this kind of new steel bridge deck in the future.
