Garden City is an ideal living environment between the city and the countryside proposed by Ebenezer Howard in England. It aims to solve the problem of overcrowding in cities and the increasingly depressed countryside. At the beginning of the 20 th century, the introduction of Garden City theory into Asia has exerted a wide and profound influence on the development of urban planning theory in Asia.It has continuously influenced the urban construction in Asia and produced various spatial forms of garden cities. This paper takes Asian garden cities as the research object.By comparing with the garden city of Europe, this paper analyzes the theoretical development of rural cities in Asia and the urban spatial form with the Asian garden city as the research object.By summarizing the characteristics of Asian garden cities and their impact on lifestyle, the article provides some references for the future construction of livable cities. The article includes the following four parts:The first part: It is to collect the application of the country of Garden City development to the theory of rural city.Comparing Howard’s Garden City, combing the urban planning theory and the change of urban policy to analyze the development of Asian Garden City theory. In the second part: On the basis of the first part,by analyzing Howard’s Garden City model,it analyzes the spatial pattern of Asian garden cities from three different scales of region, city and community, and briefly summarizes the development model of Asian garden cities. The third part: By analyzing the morphological characteristics and urban orientation of European garden cities, the characteristics of Asian garden cities in terms of urban orientation, scale and shape are compared.Based on this, the paper analyzes the impact of garden cities on Asian urban transportation, function, residence and leisure. The fourth part: Combining the above analysis,it discusses the relationship of urban-rural and spatial humanities in the human settlement environment of rural gardens in Asia.Combined with the problems of Asian cities, the city’s specific optimization strategies are proposed. Finally, the author tentatively proposes the guiding significance of the Garden City theory to the development of Asian cities and the spatial form of the future Asian Garden Cities. The article points out that the Asian rural city produces diverse material spaces under the influence of the same theory, which is the result of the combination of various social factors in Asian countries. However, the unity of the urban environment and social form in Asia and the similar process of accepting the idyllic city theory. This diversity provides a identifying feature for the development of Asian cities.Through the analysis and summary, the use of these rich practical results has important reference value for the subsequent response to different urban development. This is an important sample to explore the spatial form and humanity gains and losses in rural cities. The idyllic city carries a social utopian nature. In addition to influencing the urban form,it also focuses on the reshaping of lifestyles, including the innovation of educational models, and the final goal is to cultivate a healthy personality. Its research has made us more aware of the need for cities to maintain a balance between ecology, scale, density, and function in addition to economic development. This is good for us to conceive a beautiful urban space suitable for the current level of human cognition.
