Research On The Application Of Chinese Traditional Swastika Pattern In The Door Leaf Decoration Of Ancient Buildings

The representation and structure of the swastika pattern reflect the expressiveness and inclusiveness of the traditional decorative items.The pattern composition is harmonious and unified and has rhythm,which conforms to the basic principles of pattern aesthetics.As a traditional Chinese auspicious decorative pattern,swastika is the homonym of the word “?”(ten thousands),having rich Chinese characteristics.The application of its composition form and its unique expression all prove that the swastika pattern is a mature and perfect decorative pattern worth studying.In this paper,the reason why the swastika pattern of the decorative pattern appears in the door leaf of the ancient building is boiled down to the following three aspects.From the aspect of practical function,the swastika pattern is a polygonal geometric pattern,and the geometrical pattern is easy to form a mesh composition.The characteristics meet the rigid requirements for ventilation and light transmission in the decoration of the partition.From the aspect of decorative function,the swastika pattern has unique artistic and decorative characteristics,which meets the aesthetic requirements of the partition door leaf.From the aspect of expressive expression,it is decorated on the ancient building partition.The use of the swastika pattern contains beautiful wishes and the spiritual connotation of the Chinese nation,bearing the beliefs and pursuits of the nation.These are also the main entry points for the application of the swastika pattern in the decoration of ancient buildings.The research framework of the thesis is divided into four parts.Firstly,this paper explores the formation and evolution of swastika by exploring its origin and history.Secondly,this paper discusses the characteristics of swastika from two aspects: pattern combination and composition,and generates the decorative characteristics and classification of swastika.Then,the paper expounds the Chinese traditional humanistic concept and the emotional expectations contained in swastika according to the decorative features of the partition and the unique representation of the swastika pattern in the door leaf decoration.Finally,based on the above argumentation and analysis aswell as the application of traditional patterns in modern design,this paper designs practical examples of swastika in Chinese yard projects.It shows that swastika is not only a decorative pattern in the decoration of the partition,but also a reflection of the profound traditional cultural heritage and aesthetic implication.
