The Research On The Impact Of FDI To China's Auto Parts Export Competitiveness

In the past 40 years of reform and opening up,China's auto parts industry has achieved breakthrough development in scale and export,but it is still at the low level in the international value chain,and the core technologies are under control,making domestic auto parts manufacturers face great international Competitive pressure.How to use FDI to improve the export competitiveness of auto parts has become the focus of academic and domestic auto parts companies.The research significance of the thesis lies in the theoretical and empirical research on the relationship between foreign direct investment and auto parts export competitiveness,which is helpful to a correct understanding of the impact of foreign direct investment on auto parts and components,and fully to play the technology spillover effect of FDI.On this basis,provide corresponding suggestions and which will help to improve the quality and export competitiveness of China's auto parts exports.The purpose of this thesis is to establish a multi-line regression model by using the economic analysis of auto parts economic data from 1996 to 2015,using Statal3 software to regression analysis and inspection,and investigating the impact of FDI on China's auto parts export competition.While comprehensively evaluating and comparing the export competitiveness of China's auto parts,it also proposed corresponding suggestions on how to use FDI to improve the export competitiveness of auto parts.This thesis includes six chapters.The first chapter is the introduction.It mainly introduces the research background and significance of the thesis,the related domestic and foreign literatures,the research content and the framework of the thesis,as well as the innovations and shortcomings of the thesis.The second chapter is the theoretical basis of the thesis.Including comparative advantage theory and diamond model theory;the third chapter is the analysis of China's auto parts FDI and export status quo.Including the various stages and status quo of China's auto parts introduction FDI,a series of problems in the export of auto parts;the fourth chapter is the mechanism analysis of the impact of FDI on China's auto parts export competitiveness.Including the impact of FDI on China's auto parts and components,and the impact mechanism of FDI on the international competitiveness of China's auto parts.The fifth chapter is an empirical analysis of the impact of FDI on China's auto parts export competition.In this thesis,the RCA index is selected as the dependent variable of the study.The FDI inflow of auto parts is used as the independent variable of the study.The technical level,labor productivity,trade openness,R&D degree,industrial concentration and PGDP are used as control variables to construct the model.The empirical research on the model will lead to empirical results;the sixth chapter is the corresponding Countermeasures and suggestions.Through the analysis of the status quo of China's auto parts export,it shows that China's auto parts exports are mainly low-level products,lack of core technology,and the scale of China's introduction of foreign direct investment is gradually increasing.Should make full use of foreign direct investment to improve the exports scale and quality of China's auto parts.then further enhance international competitiveness.theoretical analysis shows that the impact of foreign direct investment on China's auto parts export competitiveness includes squeeze-in and out effects,technology spillover effects and substitution effects,should fully use the Squeeze in effect and technology spillover effect of foreign direct investment to improve the export competitiveness of China's auto parts;having empirically test about influencing factors of China's auto parts export competitiveness by establishing a regression model,and reveal the power source of auto parts export competitiveness.The study found that in the long period,foreign direct investment is conducive to the improvement of China's auto parts technology level and the increase of human capital.The technical level has a significant positive impact on the auto parts export competitiveness,and R&D investment is also an important power to China's auto parts.The innovation of this thesis is reflected in two aspects:Firstly,the innovation of research methods,domestic and foreign scholars have little research on how FDI improve the export competitiveness of Auto parts,and mainly focus on theoretical analysis.The quantitative analysis of the impact of FDI on China's auto parts export competitiveness is almost blank.This thesis uses a combination of qualitative analysis and empirical analysis.theoretically analyze how FDI achieves technological spillover through the path of imitation and demonstration effects,competition effects,personnel flow effects and industrial correlation effects and specific decomposition of each spill path.Second,the innovation of research perspective.on the basis of analyzing the status of auto parts exports,specifically analyze the problems faced by China's auto parts exports.China's auto parts face the problems of lack of core technology and strong external dependence,and highlight the urgency and necessity of using foreign direct investment to improve the competitiveness of China's auto parts export competition.The inadequacies of this thesis are reflected in two aspects:Firstly,because the data of foreign direct investment of auto parts is difficult to obtain,this thesis uses the product of the inflow of FDI in the automotive industry and the proportion of total investment in fixed assets of auto parts to the total investment in fixed assets of entire auto industry.The economic conclusions obtained from the quantitative analysis are not in full compliance with the real situation,but have certain practical significance.Secondly,the thesis takes the time series data of China's auto parts 1996-2015 as an empirical sample,and the sample data volume is small,which will affect the effect of data analysis.
