A Study On Information Disclosure Of Asset Retirement Obligation For CGN Power Company Limited

In recent years,with the problem of serious environmental pollution and shortage of fossil fuels,nuclear power is a new kind of electric energy and has been paid much attention in China under the government's strong support.The number of nuclear power plants is booming and the nuclear power industry is about to open the golden age in China's near future.However,nuclear power enterprises are also facing an environmental puzzle that is nuclear power equipment and nuclear waste will produce radiation damage on the surroundings when they are dumped.So the nuclear power enterprises must take special treatment to restore the environment and disclose the information of asset retirement obligations.In this paper,I choose the CGN Power Co.,LTD who is the only one nuclear power listed company in China as a case to study by using the means of descriptive analysis and literature discuss.The objective of this paper is to judge out main influencing factors according to CGN Power Company's problems existing in the information disclosure of asset retirement obligations,then put forward suitable proposals of improving information disclosure for Chinese nuclear power industry's asset retirement obligation.Based on the information disclosure of asset retirement obligation,our research angle and topic is from China's nuclear power industry to CGN Power Company.Firstly,I present the paper background,research purpose and some representative research achievements of previous scholars.Secondly,through comparing the asset disposal information disclosure rules between home and abroad,I analyze the differences and then briefly describe the present situation of the asset retirement obligation's information disclosure regulation in our country.Thirdly,according to the government's environmental protection requirements,the stakeholders' information needs and the enterprise's credibility establishment,I demonstrate the necessity of asset disposal information disclosure for the nuclear power listed companies.Besides,I tentatively conclude theways and contents of assets disposal information disclosure for China's nuclear power listed companies on the basis of above research.Then the article focus on CGN Power Company and begin to study the existing problems in the information disclosure of CGN Power by collecting large number of relevant information.Meanwhile,combining with the company's internal and external environment I try to judge out its main cause and table some effective proposals to correct the problems.Last but not the least,I sum up the paper's research achievements and bring up some future research expectations.
