In this paper,a new concept of high speed kinetic energy missile of“propulsion and strike integration” or the concept of high speed kinetic energy missile of “missile and rockets integration”was proposed firstly,and the basic theory,striking energy increasement and feasibility of “propulsion and strike integration” were investigated,and the critical materials were researched.In accordance with the promote conditions of guided missile under high mach number,a proposal was raised to improve the total striking energy of guided missile by utilizing the Al/Ni energetic structural materials to serve as the shell of solid rocket engine.Relations among the solid propellant,energetic shell and others structures were studied.The high speed impact reaction of Al/Ni was tested.Preparation process of Al/Ni was explored,and the microstructures,thermal reaction properties and mechanical properties were characterized.The results showed it was feasible to select Al/Ni energetic structural materials under the level of 370 MPa as the shell of solid rocket engine,and the maximum velocity of missile could reach to 2200m/s.The strike energy of missile had an increase of 1.75 times with the 50% Al of Al/Ni energetic structural materials impacted and oxidized.Results from the simulated atmospheric high speed impacting experiment showed that the exothermic oxidation was conspicuous of the metal elements in Al/Ni.The shape of staved back pressure fragments was closer to the explosion ball with the higher striking velocity,which indicated the energy release much more and faster.Analog of high energy propellant could enhance the reactive fragment cloud.It was found that the tensile strength of Al/Ni energetic structural materials processed by the hot pressing was 231 MPa and the initial reaction temperature was 533?.Metallic oxide additive raised the reaction temperature and weakened the mechanical property of Al/Ni.
