The Metro Signaling System is an automatic train control system.The subsystem ATS is the monitoring system in the Metro Signal System.ATS can direct,monitor and dispatch trains and make them run safely,efficiently and orderly.Nanjing Metro ATS system is a distributed computer system equipped with Siemens VIOS501 software,solaris8 platform,and sparc computer.After being used for many years,the ATS system has demonstrated different kinds of problems.Most of the problems are related to the design of three ATS core functions: Train Automatic Tracking,Train Path Automatic arrangement and Train Automatic Adjustment.Based on the demand of Nanjing Metro transportation development,this project optimized and redesigned the original ATS.According to the issues that happened during the operation,such as off-schedule interval adjustment,system redundancy due to central ATS malfunction,we changed some designs,optimized the control system and eliminated the flaws in the original design.We remoulded the system redundant structure,improved system backup mode,redesigned multiple human-computer interface,which have been recognized and accepted by the signal system suppliers.The safety and reliability of Nanjing Metro Signal System has been largely improved.As the number of Nanjing metro path is increasing,the pressure coming from operation demand is getting heavier.Through improving the ATS function design,enhancing the safety and reliability of the ATS system,optimizing the operational interface,we can promote the nationalization of the equipment,make the application of signal system maturer which will better meet the realistic requirements of Nanjing Metro.The reliability and managerial quality can also be highly improved.
