The Design Of Chongqing's Mountain Construction From The Angle Of Traditionally Visual Features

The study of visual features is aimed at the problem of urban construction and shaping architectural space.Space features and aesthetic are badly harmed by the loss of traditional features in urban space,homogenized development of space shapes and the misunderstanding in tradition about the visual culture of space(things like the repetition of some visual icons,generalized symbolization and mechanical application of simple icons).Therefore,it makes us reflect on the study of space vision when it comes to urban beautifying,proper adjustments on building elevation and the overflow of all kinds of Chinese symbols.There have been some foreign designers making answers to the problem How to Apply the Culture of Local Construction,with inheriting and developing their own cultural features as well as protecting spacial aesthetic,instead of simply keeping and copying precedent.My essay is based on the analysis of traditionally visual features,to seek for more innovative design of construction vision.I start my study from specific examples in both China and foreign countries,classifying and analyzing a series of successful cases in which great visual innovation perfectly contact traditional elements,like Xiangshan Central Campus of China Academy of Arts and the Suzhou Museun,to explore design strategies which are tied with visual features of traditional construction.And I put up with three main problems aiming at Chongqing's present situation about visual features of construction.They are the Simple Copy of Traditional Design,the Loss of Regional Vision Aesthetic and the Conflict Between Traditional Images and Modern Life.Those problems provoked my interest in visual features of mountain construction.And there is my classification and summary.For example,from the angle of vision,I devide features of Chongqing's traditional mountain construction into top boundary,median boundary and bottom boundary,looking forward to studying types and laws of its features;in the end,taking myexperience as an example,as a postgraduate in Chongqing Yangtze Village Community Activity Project,from the application about visual features of traditional mountain construction,I came up with design strategies—morphological extraction,penetration between material and technology and special reshaping.Aiming at three aspects in this program— forms,materials and technology as well as space,I also have my explanation and conclusion to its specific design techniques.Studying the present application of Chongqing's traditional images is not only for delivering history and making visual expressions of classic,but also for the reference about art design and city planning of contemporary construction,inheriting and developing regional features of visual shapes in traditional construction.An old saying goes “seeing big ones through small ones”.Starting the study from spacial vision,actually,is for concisely urban construction and innovation about the design of some space,to explore a better way to develop the culture in construction of Chongqing.
