With the rapid development of information industry and technology,The central processing unit(CPU)is used more and more widely.The power dissipation of the CPU is approximately proportional to the square of the supply voltage and the operating frequency of the power supply.To reduce power consumption,it is necessary to reduce the output of the power supply voltage.As more and more transistors is integrated in CPU,supply current is more and more greater,The user is required to have higher performance,CPU computing speed is faster and faster,the operating frequency becomes higher and higher,so the rising rate of CPU current is more and more fast,which requires a large number of dynamic energy.Therefore,this requires a high efficiency of the CPU power supply voltage regulator module(VRM)has a high dynamic characteristics.In order to solve this problem,this study proposed the " Research on the application of Three-Level DC converter technology in VRM ".In this paper,we discussed the SEPIC(Single Ended Primary Inductor Converter)three level converter in depth.SEPIC is a DC-DC converter which allows the output voltage to be greater than,less than or equal to the input voltage.The output voltage is controlled by the duty cycle of the master control switch.A solution method is proposed to solve the problem of unbalanced voltage stress in the non-isolated three-level converter.And on the basis of the non-isolated series three-level DC converter,through the method of Neutral capacitance,a series of three-level DC converter with input and output sharing the same ground is deduced.These converters not only maintain the original advantages,but also achieve the input and output sharing the same ground.At the same time,The three level converter is applied to the VRM because of the characteristics of reducing the filter size.On this basis,we put forward a new type of VRM topologies –“Interleaved Forward three-level VRM”,and the feasibility of the scheme is verified through empirical study.The research results of this paper not only have a certain guiding role for the further research and application of the three level DC converter,but also enrich and develop the power electronic DC converters.
