There are a large number of castings with complex shape in the automobile.The casting fin must be cleaned up before used.At present,most Chinese domestic enterprises clean the casting fin is manual operation,which is not only of poor quality and low efficiency,but also high labor intensity of the workers.Therefore,it is necessary to develop a new kind of equipment that can clean the casting fin automatically to solve the issues above.This thesis studied the characteristics of casting fin with complex surfaces,analyzed cleanup requirements and designed cleaning process of casting fin.On this basis,a casting fin cleaning equipment was designed and its performance was evaluated and researched by the combination of simulation and experiment.Taking engine exhaust manifold for example,its geometric properties and mechanical properties of casting fin were analyzed,the corresponding cleanup requirements were proposed,and the cleaning process was designed,including cleaning tool,cleaning method and relevant process parameters,which provided guidance for the structure design of cleaning equipment.The specific structure of the cleaning equipment was designed according to the cleaning process,and the kinematic and kinetic parameters of the equipment were obtained.By following the design method from whole to parts,the main drive system and the feed drive system was designed after determining the overall layout of the equipment,then the relevant parameters of main drive parts and feed parts were calculated and checked,and finally the three-dimensional model of the equipment was constructed.The kinematics and dynamic characteristics of cleaning equipment were studied.The kinematic model was established on both sides of positive solution and inverse solution.Based on the kinematics model,in order to evaluate the kinematic performance of the equipment,Monte Carlo method was used to get cleaning equipment’s workspace through MATLAB,which directly reflects the processing scope of cleaning equipment.After establishing the finite element model of equipment through HyperMesh,the parameters like natural frequencies,mode shapes,peak frequencies were obtained through modal analysis and harmonic response analysis.These parameters can evaluate the dynamic performance of the equipment and provide direction for the structural optimization.The equipment prototype experiments were carried out,which include vibration testing and casting processing.The experiments investigated the actual dynamic characteristics and ability of cleaning casting fin,and verified the correctness of the established model.Structural optimization scheme of equipment was processing,and the result showed that the structure performance of equipment was enhanced through comparing the simulation data of before and after optimization.The designed equipment can meet cleaning requirement of the burr in automotive castings with complex surface,and solve the problem that exists during cleaning up the casting fin.The simulation and experiment evaluated the performance of the equipment,and provided direction for the structural optimization.This research has scientific and engineering significance.
