In recent years,sandwich structure has been applied in various buildings because of its light weight,high intensity,heat insulation and sound insulation.The stability of sandwich plates to engineering practice has a profound impact on the safety of structures.Therefore,the critical load for buckling of sandwich structure is very important to avoid structural instability.The existing methods for solving the stability problem of sandwich plate are complex and the solving procedure is complicated.So,establish a convenient calculation method to solve the stability problem of sandwich plates is necessary.This paper is based on the Ressiner theory,and the basic solution of the stability problem of rectangular sandwich plates are derived by reciprocal theory of works.This paper has derived the surface equations and the characteristic equations about the stability problem of rectangular sandwich plates applied to reciprocal method under six different boundary conditions.These boundary conditions include two opposite edges are simply supported and other two opposite edges fixed,two opposite edges are simple supported one edges is fixed and the other edges is free,two opposite edges are simply supported and other two opposite edges free,two opposite edges are fixed one edges is simply supported and the other edges is free,two adjacent edges are simple supported while the other two adjacent edges are free and angular point supported,two adjacent edges are simple supported while the other two adjacent edges are free and angular point hang.The critical loads are calculated by MATLAB software,and compared with the numerical solutions simulated by ANSYS software.It proved the surface equations and the characteristic equations are correctly.This paper solved the critical loads of the sandwich wall panel about the operation room of steel rolling workshop that use reciprocal method,and it insured the safety of the engineering structure.It is a new method to study the stability problem of rectangular sandwich plates.
