As a lateral force resistance structure,the steel plate shear wall has been widely used in many high-rise building and the other cases where a steel plate shear is used as a shear resistance element.Compared with flat steel plate,corrugated steel plate has many advantages over flat steel plate.The former has a larger out-of-plane rigidity and local buckling is less likely occur.Therefore,replacing the infill flat steel plate with corrugated steel plate can significantly increase shear buckling strength,and almost no deformation will occur during the process of transporting and installing.This paper focuses on two types of corrugated steel plate shear walls,namely trapezoidal corrugated steel shear walls with vertical stiffeners and composite shear walls with double trapezoidal corrugated steel plates,and their performance and design method for predicting shear strength is presented.This paper focuses firstly on trapezoidal corrugated steel plate shear walls with vertical stiffeners.It is well known that stiffeners can significantly improve the shear buckling strength of steel plate shear walls,and a critical rigidity ratio of the stiffener is studied.First,the sensibility of the corrugated steel plate shear walls to initial imperfection is studied numerically and the initial imperfection mode and amplitude both are determined;then it is verified if the critical rigidity ratio of stiffener acquired by elastic buckling analysis is also true for limit strength design of trapezoidal corrugated steel plate shear walls.Secondly,this paper studied composite steel plate shear walls with trapezoidal corrugated steel plates where shear behavior and strength design are focused on.Two different types of bolts distribution are involved in the numerical analysis.First the pushing forces and out-of-plane deformation produced due to casting-concrete inside two corrugated steel plates is investigated,and this provides the initial imperfection of the corrugated steel plates.Then the effect of the variation of several key parameter on the performance of the composite trapezoidal corrugated steel plate walls under pure shear load is studied.These parameters include the height of the shear walls,the width of the shear walls,the thickness of the corrugated steel plates and the vertical spacing between two bolts.The elastic buckling formulas of the two types of composite trapezoidal corrugated steel plate walls under pure shear load are obtained,then through defining the normalized slenderness ratio from the elastic buckling formulas,the ultimate shearbearing capacity design is conducted by introducing shear stability coefficient acquired by elastic-plastic strength analysis using finite element method.
