With the acceleration of urbanization in China,more and more rural surplus labor force has engaged in urbanization.Their children are unable to follow them to live in the city where they work because of different regional educational systems,lack of money and time,which has brought a new population in rural areas-rural left-behind children.Because the left-behind children cannot live with their parents in the daily life,they have less communication with their parents and their parents can only communicate with them by phone.Besides,due to the limitations of communication means,time and content,the left-behind children do not have a strong desire to communicate or they communicate passively with their parents and are unwilling to express themselves.So in order to solve these parent-child communications,this paper is meant to dig out the key points of parent-child communication,provide a solution from the professional perspective and promote the healthy growth of rural left-behind children by studying the situation of parent-child communication of rural left-behind children.This study is to dig out their needs by solving questions,collect the design points of the product based on their needs and finally improve the design of parent-child communication product after studying the data and situation of rural left-behind children and summarize their problems in rural areas.The methods adopted include literature research,scene observation,in-depth interview and user research.First,rural left-behind children and parent-child communication can be defined and the current situation of their parent-child communication can be summarized in researching related literature.Through research plan,the object of research can be determined and some data can be prepared for the following field research.Then the research is mainly divided into two parts:parents' work hours and parents' back for New Year.The main content of work hours was not only to observe and record the daily life of the left-behind children in rural areas,but also to observe and interview both their parent-child communication and parent-child communication of their parents as well as the daily life of their parents.The research content of back for New Year is mainly to observe and interview the daily life status and parent-child communication behaviors of both the left-behind children and their parents.After the observation and interview,the types of left-behind children in rural areas and their needs for parent-child communication can be analyzed.Finally,through the mapping of demand and product,the following four points of product design can be found out.First,it can be a reminder for left-behind children.Second,it can monitor negative emotion of left-behind children.Third,it can remind parents' communication with their children.Fourth,it can share the daily life from both two sides.Finally,product design through product can be finally designed based on these points.
