As a part of the whole automobile lighting system,the headlamp of the car is also an important part of the automobile active safety system.In recent years,with the development of society,the implementation of national energy saving and emission reduction,and the frequent occurrence of traffic accidents,traditional headlamps can no longer satisfy people's lighting needs.As a product of the times,LED has become the first choice of the new generation of green light source because of its high luminous efficiency,long service life,short response time,simple and flexible control and so on.What's more,owing to the decline in price and the improvement in technology of white LED,LED has been chosen as the light source of automobile headlamp by more cars.At the same time,the advancement of technology and the urgent needs of people make it come true that the automobile manufacturers produce more complicated and intelligent headlamps.Therefore,it has become a trend to design and make researches on intelligent and functional headlamps.At present,most cars,whose headlamps are LED in the market,simply have the front light and the high beam.The traditional headlamp with adaptive function has mean intelligence with complex structure but simple light distribution,which can not adapt to the complex roads now.This paper first discusses the functional diversity and intelligence of LED headlamp to make light distribution design,which makes the headlamp adaptive and the high beam matrix.By designing and studying AFS and ADB,the headlamp will become more intelligent and integrated.The main contents of this paper are summarized as follows:Firstly,based on the history of the development of automobile headlamp,and on the domestic and foreign intelligent headlamp research background and situation at present,this paper will elaborate the significance and purpose of this study.Secondly,it describes the basic theory of photometry of automotive lighting and automotive headlamp basic design theory,which has a great connection with the general method of headlamp lamp design.Furthermore,it introduces the concept of adaptive front light and adaptive high beam in the current situation,and also it makes detailed interpretation of the provisions of the AFS and ADB R123 ECE made by the Economic Commission for Europe.Then,it uses Lucidshape analysis software through the optical superposition method to design the AFS front light module with four kinds of light type and the corresponding curve model,and the ADB high beam module which can use the ordinary beam and the adaptive beam mode.The contrast test shows that all of them conform to the requirements of ECE R123 standard.Finally,it discusses how to realize the idea of intelligent LED headlamp through the combination of AFS and ADB to support the design philosophy of the intelligent headlamp in this paper.In the design of the AFS front light module,the method of superposition of the basic light type and the four auxiliary light modes is used.As the basis of AFS C,V,E,W light type,the base light uses an ellipsoidal projection type structure and a symmetrical free-form surface structure.The light type is designed by analyzing the requirement that the upper and lower limits of the four types of light should meet.The four types of light are achieved according to the characteristics of each type with an additional optical design of a free-form surface reflector,which will lead to the superposition of the reflected light and the basic light.Compared with the ECE R123 regulations,the simulation results of the four types of light all meet the requirements of the laws and regulations.In the design of ADB high beam module,according to the requirements of ECE R123,in the adaptive phase,it uses 16 independently controllable beads under reasonable arrangement of their positions,and uses free-form lens structure of two crossed light types to achieve adaptive lighting.At the same time,based on adaptive lighting module,it designs AFS front light module cooperating with the variable elliptical projective structure of aspheric lens as ordinary beam auxiliary lighting.By using the method of optical superposition,it achieves the common beam lighting requirements.The results of simulation debugging show that the requirements of the laws and regulations are met,and the light dark areas can be freely controlled according to the actual needs.In general,this paper focuses on the optical design of the LED intelligent headlamp equipped with AFS and ADB,and designs the AFS and ADB light patterns in accordance with the regulations.The whole optical system is compact and functional,which basically meets the lighting needs of intelligent headlamps.Meanwhile,the research will also lay the foundation for universal intelligent headlamps with stronger functions.
