With the increase of the number of female drivers,most car constraint systems are still developed on the basis of Hybird III 50th percentile male dummy.So male drivers are well protected,while the protection of female drivers who are with short stature is relatively poor.NHTSA pointed out:The mortality rate of male drivers involved in traffic accidents was significantly lower than that of 30 years ago,while the death rate of female drivers involved in traffic accidents was still high.The countries around the world are paying more and more attention to the protection of female drivers,and the regulations aimed at protecting female drivers have been published.The combining optimization method to find the combination of constraint system parameters is studied,on the basis of less increase in the male drivers'injury,to the most significant reduction in female drivers'injury in the collision.?1?The current situation of road traffic safety is introduced,and the protection researches of female driver at home and abroad are described briefly.The evaluation criteria of occupant's injury and new car assessment programs in each country are briefly introduced,and the evaluation criteria of female occupants in regulations of different countries are compared.?2?Based on the vehicle crash test,MADYMO is used to establish the simulation model of the constraint system.The dummy is composed of 50th percentile dummy and 5th percentile dummy,and the influence of the main parameters of the constraint system on both of male and female drivers'injury is analyzed.?3?According to the damage characteristics of female drivers in the full width frontal collision,the evaluation index of comprehensive injury of female driver?WICF?and the evaluation index of comprehensive injury both of male and female driver?WICA?are put forward.The optimal combination of parameters is obtained by optimizing five parameters which are selected by factor sensitivity analysis of the male dummy constraint system model.Then the WICA is used as the optimization target to optimize the injury of both male and female dummy.Constraint system model has been optimized with the consideration of female dummy,the male dummy's injury remains unchanged when compared with optimal state,this win-win result is not contrary to the starting point of the optimization.Compared with the initial model,the damage value of each part of male dummy reduces greatly,and the evaluation index WIC decreases by 18.73%.The head injury of female dummy decreases significantly,the chest injury does not decrease obviously.Moreover,the evaluation index WICF decreases by 12.48%.?4?In order to protect female drivers'head and chest greatly,the concept of dual stage airbag is put forward to explore the effeteness of the protection of drivers.The results show that the optimized model reduces the head and chest injury of the female dummy greatly,in the case of that the WIC increases by 5.97%.Moreover,the HIC15and Ccompomp of female dummy reduces by 15.92%and 14.53%.
