With the rapid increasing of labor costs and the continuous decline of steel prices,the concept of green construction is becoming more and more popular.The bridge industry tends to be industrial production and assembly construction.The advatages of steel composite plate girder used in the medium and small span bridges has emerged because of its wide range of applicatble span,simple structural configuration and quick construction.A wide application of steel composite plate girdet bridges can promote the transformation of bridge industry and realize the goal of standardized,industrial and fast construction of bridges.Based on the analysis and study of the standard drawing design of the steel composite plate girder bridge in the United States,the paper compares and analyzes the design and calculation regulations for steel composite plate girder bridges between China and the United States,and relies on the actual project to design the steel composite plate girder bridges.The main research and conclusions are as follows:(1)This paper expounds the development advantages and popularization significance of steel composite plate girder bridge in China.Based on the study of standard drawing design,theory research,specification and application of steel composite plate girder bridges,the paper summarizes the inqdequate of research on steel composite plate girder bridges in China.(2)Two sets of standard drawings of steel composite plate girders in the United States is arranged,and the design proposal of the steel composite plate girder bridges is obtained from material selection,section selection,number of main beams and so on.(3)Based on the differences between specifications of steel composite girder bridge in China and the United States,the paper compares basic specification of design,vehicular load,design theory and the calculation content of steel composite plate girder.And quantitative analysis of the differences between China and the United States regulations of steel composite plate girder was obtained by the parameter of Structural richness.It is believed that the specification in China are more conservative with fewer calculation items.The standard drawing design based on the US specification is more economical and structural richness is small under Chinese specification.(4)Based on the practical engineering,the design and construction method of the steel composite plate girder bridge are presented.With the bearing capacity and serviceability limit state of steel composite plate girder are analyzed,the paper researches the practicability of steel composite plate girder in small and medium span bridges.
