Asphalt mixture is an important road building material and is widely used in the construction of highways and grade highways. It is a composite material formed by the combination of asphalt and aggregate after curing. The bond strength between asphalt and aggregate is an important indicator for evaluating the performance of asphalt mixture. The establishment of scientific and accurate evaluation methods and systems is of great significance for exploring the bond strength between asphalt and aggregates. At present, although the evaluation methods for the adhesion between asphalt and aggregate at home and abroad can characterize the strength of the binding between asphalt and aggregate to some extent, there are still many defects. To further study the adhesion between asphalt and aggregate,it is necessary to develop more accurate and effective measurement methods and tools. This article proposes a new method for measuring the bond strength between asphalt and aggregates using single cantilever beam method.First, the working principle of the single cantilever method is described. From the perspective of fracture mechanics, the separation mechanism of asphalt and slate was analyzed using this method. From the perspective of fracture energy, the experimental phenomena that may occur when separation of asphalt from slate are explained. The force analysis and calculation were performed on the test sample, and the critical stress when separating the asphalt from the stone plate was used as an index for evaluating the bond strength. Then,a tensile test method for measuring the bond strength between asphalt and aggregate was designed,a test sample production method was developed, and a standard test procedure was formulated.According to the needs of the test method,a test and measurement platform was designed and built. Finally, the effect of bonding temperature, type of aggregate, and machine parameters on the bond strength of asphalt was illustrated for the test results, and the reasons for this phenomenon were analyzed. The main conclusions obtained in this study include: at a temperature of 100°C and a loading speed of 15 mm/s,the bond strength between 90# bitumen and granite is 0.426 MPa,the bond strength with limestone is 0.684 MPa,and the temperature at 120°C and Under the loading speed of 15mm/s,the bonding strength between 90# bitumen and granite is 0.474 MPa,and the bonding strength with limestone is 0.661MPa;the adhesion between alkaline aggregate and asphalt is stronger than that between acidic aggregate and asphalt.Strong knot;the higher the bonding temperature of asphalt and aggregate, the greater the bond strength. In this paper,a single cantilever method for measuring the interfacial adhesion is introduced into the asphalt-aggregate bonding system to measure the bond strength between the interfaces. This method plays an important role in scientifically and accurately measuring the bond strength between asphalt and aggregate, and further exploring the influence of the external environment on the bond strength.
