The Impact And Utility Of Real-time Bus Information On Passengers’ Travel Behavior

With the improvement of the quality of life in society,people’s demand for bus travel has increased.The need for information on the arrival time of buses,the real-time running status of vehicles,and the degree of congestion in cars has become increasingly prominent during travel.In order to comply with this demand,it has become necessary to publish real-time public transport information on public transport bus stations,the Internet,and mobile clients.When investing huge amounts of money in the construction of a real-time information system,can the information provide help and influence and compliance rates for the traveler? Therefore,it is necessary to study the impact of real-time information on travel behavior and its effectiveness.This article first introduces the contents and functions of real-time public transport information,as well as two commonly used methods of information provision,and analyzes the impact of real-time information on passenger travel.Based on this,we conduct SP survey on traveler’s travel willingness and travel choices under real-time information and establish a travel selection model based on real-time information.Through the analysis of model results,it is found that the traveler changes the route selection under both conditions of work and work.The common key influencing factors are the waiting time and the accuracy and timeliness of the information.This paper introduces the concept of perceived waiting time.Through the analysis of time-influencing factors,the model of perceived waiting time is established,and the relationship between actual waiting time and perceived waiting time is determined.The results show that real-time bus information plays a very important role in shortening the perceived waiting time of passengers.Then,based on the information provided by the SP survey data of the traveler’s travel choice scheme,the effectiveness of real-time information in the travel process is quantitatively analyzed by the time value difference of the traveler in the presence and absence of information.This paper studies the impact of real-time bus information provision on travel choices and their utility,provides data support and theoretical basis for real-time bus information publishers,and is conducive to the formulation and optimization of real-time bus information strategies.At the same time,it also provides theory and guidance methods for the evaluation and analysis of intelligent bus transportation system and the optimization and utilization of real-time bus information.It is of great significance.
