With the increasing of urban population and private car ownership in China,the problem of road traffic congestion is becoming more and more serious.As a large volume passenger transport mode,the development of public transport can help to alleviate traffic congestion.However,due to the interference of road random factors,the service level of the ground public transportation system needs to be improved.Bus bunching is an external manifestation of the unstable operation of the ground public transport system.This phenomenon is more obvious in the line with many stops and high frequency.Based on this,this paper studies the inherent characteristics and control strategies of bus bunching in single using bus GPS data.Based on the GPS data of the 600 road bus in Xi'an,this paper first studies the temporal and spatial distribution characteristics and the probability distribution of the bus' s time headway.At the same time,the characteristic variable of bus bunching is defined,and the bunching degree of the stop is analyzed.Secondly,the running state of adjacent bus is divided into five kinds,namely,bus bunching state,bus bunching transition state,normal state,large interval transition state and large interval state.The threshold of the operating states is studied by the probability distribution characteristics of the bus' s time headway and the K-Means algorithm,and its evolution characteristics are analyzed.On the other hand,a prediction method of the travel time between adjacent stops is set based on Calman filtering algorithm.The study found that the bunching degree of bus stations is more and more serious.The method based on the time headway probability distribution of the station and the K-Means algorithm can be used to divide the running state of the bus and the state of buses can transform from each other.At the same time,the Calman filtering algorithm can reflect the travel time characteristics of the buses,so as to predict the interval time.Finally,based on the operation status recognition of bus and Calman filtering interval travel time prediction method,a real-time bus bunching control system is built.
