CNC machining of tube base hole J-Groove is the key step for pressure vessel upper lid assembly manufacturing.Usually there are numerous tube base holes and their J-shape grooves are various.Traditional CNC programming will establish 3D modeling for each and every J-Groove and then commission their cutter path.It is a complicated process that may easily give rise to man made mistakes and even quality accidents.In this case,this essay is analyzing the disadvantages of present CAD/CAM for upper lid J-Groove modeling and processing,while applying Visual C++ integrated platform to specially develop CAD/CAM processing system for upper lid groove manufacturing.To introduce the development process for J-Groove,the essay has four parts,which respectively are system framework design,modeling module design,processing module design and simulation and application of the system.The chapter of framework design starts from the research target and make clear the target function the system tries to realize.Each function module is established according to the design philosophy of modularization with system operation flow diagram.The chapter introduces relevant secondary development technology and tools for UG NX platform and makes analysis and comparison among those tools.In the end the chapter illustrates CAD/CAM secondary development process for J-Groove and establishes system operation environment.System modeling part introduces modeling design process for J-Groove modeling system.Modeling part adopts parameterization design method to establish J-Groove section draft graph through section point algorithm.J-Groove parameterization model is constructed by calling modeling function.Key parameters are obtained through user input interface to establish physical model for any position of J-Groove.Processing part summarizes the difficulties during the course of manufacturing and makes analysis and comparison of pro and con of process methods under two manufacturing modes.From the perspective of simplifying processing procedures and optimizing configuration of cutting parameters,the chapter gives its method for J-Groove processing operation template.During the course of manufacturing the cutter path can be generated directly by calling processing template.Simulation and application part explains the cutter path document post processing and software simulation process.By comparing with the programming efficiency,accuracy and technical preparation time before adopting the special system for J-Groove manufacturing,the CNC program generated by CAD/CAM system is proved to be reliably correct through tests on processed part of lid.The research result of the essay can be effectively addressing the technical issues arising from the course of J-Groove CNC programming,and increases the whole efficiency of technical preparation stage.Programming staffers can be freed from repeated complex workload to save human resources cost.It is meaningful to develop and promote the NXOpen secondary development technology.
