The Case Research On The Special Rods Progress Management Of IMC Corporation

In order to keep up with the development of the economy,the development of the mechanical industry has also made appropriate adjustments,the rough mode of production transits into the production of fine gradually in machining manufacturing industry,market competition has become more fierce,too.IMC corporation begins to meet the special needs of customers in order to get more customers to occupy the market,IMC company designs special rods for customers.However,with the emergence of a large number of special rods orders and in face of new products,new molds,new technologies,new detection methods in the implementation of the project process,IMC company usually can not provide products in the prescribed time because of schedule management method not perfect,which results in compensation for breach of contract and credit damage.It is an important way for IMC company to gain more market share and profit to improve the project schedule management method and means of IMC company.In this paper,the special rod production and manufacturing project of IMC Company is studied.After comparing and analyzing the data of finished projects and the basic data of special rods,the main problems of the case are analyzed.Using the method of project schedule management and control,the project work structure is broken down,the activity duration is estimated,the sequence of events is determined,the Activity-On-Node of the project is drawn and the key route is determined.In the end,the route and duration is optimized to provide safeguards.Through the research on the related theoretical knowledge of project progress management and control and the analysis of problems in the production and manufacturing of IMC special rods,it is determined that the Activity-On-Node diagram and key path method are theoretical methods of project progress management,which can play a key role in project progress management and control,and can guarantee the project duration and quality effectively.In this paper,the optimization method,theory and experience of this case project schedule can be used as reference for other similar project schedule managements.
