As a popular kind of shear connectors in steel-concrete composite and hybrid structures,Perfobond rib connectors(PBL connectors)have been widely applied in a large amount of steelconcrete composite or hybrid bridge and building structures.However,problems in researches on PBL connectors still remains:(1)researches on shear strength of PBL connectors usually result in empirical equations calculating the shear strength,and are usually lack of direct mechanic models;(2)few researches on mechanism and ductility of PBL connectors during their plastic period has been conducted;(3)PBL connectors are usually arranged in groups in actual engineering structurues,while researches on shear behaviors of PBL connectors mostly base on PBL connectors with single hole.In order to improve the design method for PBL connectors,this paper conducted researches from three area: the mechanic model and calculating method for single PBL connectors' shear strength,factors affecting the mechanism during plastic period and the ductility of single PBL connectors,and the rational designing method for PBL connectors in groups:(1)basing on the analysis on parameters influencing the shear behavior of single PBL connector and their mechanism,the model for shear strength of single PBL has been suggested,and formula calculating the shear strength has been given;(2)According to experimental results having been done,mechanism for shearing behavior during plastic period and main factors infunencing the load-slip curve has been studied into.Also the classifying methods basing on the characteristics of load-slip curves has been given,together with the requirements for PBL connectors to show in good ductilities;(3)The mechanic model for PBL connectors in groups has been proposed,and basing on this model,the suggestion for design of PBL connectors in groups that it should be designed with high ductility in order to own high efficient when work in groups was given.
