Highway traffic safety is very important for national economic development and safe driving,which is one of the hot issues for countries and regions around the world.The main factor of affecting the safety of highway traffic is overload and oversize of transportation.There are two solutions for solving overload and oversize detection: manual measurement method and laser measurement method.Both of these methods have some problems,which cannot meet actual testing requirements and are not conducive to large-scale promotion and use.This paper focuses on the practical application scenario of overload-oversize detection,and proposes a precise measurement method based on machine vision,which can realize the precise measurement of vehicle's outline dimensions.This method consist of several parts,such as project design,camera calibration,vehicle motion displacement calculation,vehicle three-dimensional model construction and so on.The details will be explained as follows:Project design:This paper aims at the practical application requirements of overloadoversize detection,and proposes that the camera should be installed on both sides of the lane to realize the construction of a three-dimensional vehicle model.The significance of this design is that it can realize the accurate construction of a complete vehicle three-dimensional model,and then achieve accurate measurement of the vehicle's outline dimensions.Camera Calibration:This paper proposes a plane calibration method for the actual application scenario of overload-oversize detecting.This method can realize accurate calibration of the camera's external parameters.In the end,this paper verifies the accuracy of this calibration method through experimental analysis.Vehicle movement displacement calculation:This paper studies the displacement calculation method based on feature point matching,and proposes a high-precision displacement test method.Through experimental analysis,the displacement test method has high accuracy and is an effective solution,which can meet the requirements of the actual application scenario of overload-oversize detection.Vehicle three-dimensional model construction: This paper proposes a vehicle three-dimensional model construction method,which mainly includes vehicle single-side model construction method and vehicle overall model construction method.Among them,the vehicle single-side model construction method realizes the construction of the left and right models of the vehicle through the method of image sequence splicing.The vehicle overall model construction method realizes the complete vehicle three-dimensional model construction and the accurate measurement of vehicle outline dimensions by splicing left and right side models.In the end,this paper has carried on the experiment and the analysis to the entire measurement plan,which mainly includes the experiment of measurement accuracy and the experiment of measurement result stability.The experimental analysis shows that the solution presented in this paper has high accuracy and stability,and the measurement accuracy is above 99%.
