The pursuit of safety and environmental protection has not been stopped in the field of ships.As the most important content in the loading manual,the loading condition of the ship plays a key reference and guiding role in the actual operation of the ship.Whether the loading condition can fit the requirements,it is related to the ship’s navigation safety,and also has a direct impact on the ship’s speed and fuel consumption.NAPA is a software,composite hull shell,3D model,advanced hydrostatic mechanics,stability and structural design,that can be used to design any floating structure.It has now been successfully applied to more than 400 professional institutions,including the world’s major shipyards,classification societies,maritime organizations,colleges and shipowners.NAPA MANAGER is a visual tool for executing programs.It can execute multiple macros.The input of parameters is more intuitive and easier to operate.The number of design conditions of a ship is about 20 to 50,and about 10 items need to be inspected for each loading condition.The design and output of ship loading conditions are carried out in NAPA software,and relevant parameters can be referenced easily.In this paper,the NAPA software is developed in combination with the rules and regulations,and the NAPA MANAGER is made to automatically check the loading condition of the ship.It is not only greatly improving efficiency but also avoiding the mistakes caused by human factors.The inspection time of a single loading condition was reduced to a few seconds from the previous ten minutes.This article mainly introduces the following contents.1)NAPA BASIC language,NAPA MANAGER’s advantages over traditional NAPA using methods and a brief introduction to the NAPA MANAGER production method,when dealing with complex problems.2)《International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea》,《Common Structural Rules for Bulk Carriers and Oil Tankers》,《International code on Intact Stability》,《International Convention on Load Lines》,and so on,several important regulations and specifications for the specific requirements of ship loading conditions,including the minimum fore draft,propeller immersion rate,trim,maximum draught,blind area,air draught,shear force,bending moment,stability and cargo mass loading.3)List the inspection items of loading condition by analysis and summarizing all relevant regulations and specifications.4)Achieving the automatic inspection function of loading condition by program based on the above requirements.5)The actual use effect of a bulk carrier is presented.A lot of design effort could be finished directly by NAPA MANAGER now.Such as Damage calculation,Sounding table,etc.NAPA MANAGER would be able to assist to complete related ship design work and increase efficiency if we can master the method of making it.As the design work of ship more and more intelligent,NAPA MANAGER would gradually replace the traditional way of NAPA.The development of NAPA MANAGER will be more and more appreciated.The research results of this paper also provide some guidance for more efficient use of NAPA MANAGER for ship design.
