Corrugated-plate dryer as the last level of steam-water separator is an important part of nuclear power plant,which has the advantages of high separation efficiency,low pressure drop.The separation performance of the corrugated-plate has a significant impact on the safe and economical operation of the turbine of a nuclear power plant.Therefore,it is very necessary to study the performance of the corrugated-plate dryer.There are a kind of forms of the corrugated-plate,and the shape of the flow channel in the dryer is complex.The numerical calculation method has limitations in the research of the performance of the corrugated-plate dryer.So in this paper we mainly uses the experiment method to study the performance of the dryer.Firstly,the mechanism of two-phase separation process were briefly intoducted.Then,the test bench of dryer was built,and the separation performance of the dryer was studied.Through the experimental study we found that the pressure loss of the corrugated-plate increased with the increase of the inlet wind speed and the decrease of the plate spacing between the plate and plate.The inlet humidity almost has no influence on the pressure loss.The separation efficiency of the corrugated plate is influenced by inlet wind speed,humidity,hook structure,plate-plate spacing and so on.Before the inlet velocity reaches the critical velocity,the separation efficiency of the corrugated-plate increases with the increase of the inlet wind speed,and generally increases with the decrease of plate spacing.The flow area of the double-hook corrugated-plate is small than the single-hook corrugated plate,thus more likely to occur the re-entrainment,but if the inlet velocity of the air is lower than the critical inlet velocity,the double-hook corrugated-plate has the highest separation efficiency.The numerical simulation has been carried out about the flow fields in the corrugated-plate.And it is found that the appropriate increase of plate-hook spacing can increase the pressure loss of corrugated-plate,but it is also beneficial to improve the separation efficiency of corrugated plate.Compared with the results of numerical calculation and experimental study,the optimal selection of the four kinds of waveform plates is given in this paper.
