Abstract/Summary:
Wind power capture wind energy through the impeller,convert wind energy into mechanical energy,and then into electrical energy.Blade is the main component of energy conversion in wind power generation,and airfoil is the basic element of blade.Therefore,the performance of the airfoil has a direct effect on the efficiency of the energy conversion of the wind turbine.The optimization and design of high performance airfoil is of great significance to the rapid development of wind power industry.Numerical simulation for S809 wind turbine airfoil created by NREL was carried out with commercial software Fluent.Adopting the result predicted with DDES turbulence model has higher accuracy,besides,adopting the lift coefficient revising method for DDES turbulence model with transition-sst.This study provides more valid numerical simulation method for aerodynamic designing of wind turbine and has higher utility value in engineering.The DU 91-W2-250 airfoil was selected as the research object,and the optimization and design work were carried out respectively.First of all,by using the CST parameter method and parameters selection method of airfoil geometry control variables,change the variables to generate new airfoil;followed by aerodynamic performance analysis software for calculating aerodynamic performance,obtain pneumatic parameters of the airfoil;finally,using genetic algorithm to call the pneumatic analysis software,searching the design space to get the best solution,then obtained the desiring airfoil.The aerodynamic performance of optimized airfoil is better than the original airfoil DU 91-W2-250.The Z17-300 30% thickness designed airfoil,compared with the DU 97-W-300 airfoil,not only to meet the conditions of geometric compatibility,but also has more excellent aerodynamic performance.This paper provides a feasible method for optimization and design of large scale development of wind turbine airfoil.
