In order to come up with new rigid vehicle restraint systems,The crash rating of which was HA.Firstly,according to the HA-class condition of the latest domestic guardrail collision safety performance evaluation criteria,the finite element method was used to build the concrete guardrail of the original design,solved the problem of the unreasonable concrete guardrail of cross section through shape optimization method innovatively,determined the concrete guardrail Shape optimization process process according to the characteristics of the shape optimization,the shape optimization analysis was carried out on the traditional concrete guardrail on the basis of the convergence criterion of minimizing the maximum pressure,got a new cross section concrete guardrail configurations with many block;Then,the new guardrail cross section shape is extended and used in bridge guardrail and traditional barrier reconstructing.got the five new guardrail,respectively is the "three block" new concrete guardrail,"two block" new concrete guardrail,new modified guardrail,"three block" bridge concrete guardrail and "two block" bridge concrete guardrail.the security protection level of"three block" concrete barrier is HA;the security protection level of "two block" concrete barrier is SS.Orthogonal experimental design methods were studied to make size optimization on five new section concrete guardrail.obtaining the optimal cross-sectional dimensions combination in the corresponding safety level requirements.Determind the reliability of the new section concrete guardrail under the optimal size by the test analysis.In this paper,the following conclusions were obtained:(1)got a new concrete guardrail with many block through shape optimization method.(2)the new guardrail cross section shape is extended and used in bridge guardrail and traditional barrier reconstructing,got the five new guardrail.(3)obtained the optimal cross-sectional dimensions combination by orthogonal experimental design methods.the results showed that the optimized guardrail structure can stop the vehicle to climb and guide vehicles moving normally,at the same time,it also can make sure the safety of the vehicle occupants.
