With the rapid economic development, the car as a convenient means of transport are increasingly being purchased to use.The increase of the number of the car increases the probability of occurrence of such accidents.Statistics show the annual deaths due to traffic accidents in increasing,so the traffic safety is a major issue of people's livelihood. The probability of frontal crash is highest, being in touch in the first is the bumper system, and the most critical is the system of bumper system are beams and crash box that could effectively absorb crash energy and protect the occupant to reduce the impact damage. So study how to improve the energy absorption characteristics of beams and crash box have a major significance in the car crash. This paper selects a predetermined of RACR(Research Council for Automobile Repairs)for the automotive frontal crash reference standard and the C-NCAP(China New Car Assessment Program)for the secondary standard.Combined with Research Council for Automobile Repairs predetermined car frontal crash requirements, use three-dimensional geometric model HyperMesh software to decimated the surface, mesh, establish constraints applied load, the definition of materials, define the material to complete the finite element model. And calculate for finite element model by ANSYS/LS DYNA software, analyze the crash force, crash acceleration of bumper system, the energy change in various parts and overall structure. To make it can not only be completely absorbed kinetic energy of the crash, reduce the impact of occupant suffered to a minimum in the low-speed crash like in speed 16km/h,but also absorbed crash energy as much as possible,to reduce the high-speed crash damage, optimized materials and structures of beams and crash. The beam and crash box after optimized has better energy absorption characteristics, absorb the kinetic energy while reducing the impact and acceleration,Better protection for the occupants.
