Application Research Of Regional Cultural Elements In The Museum Space Design

As a bridge connect different times,a carrier and inheritor of history and culture of nation,city,and region,the museum has attracted more and more attention with an increasing number of visitors,since it not only shows the development of a city,moreover,it demonstrates the cultural deposits and development of a city from ancient times.Therefore,the developing and design is particularly significant in the city's planning.To better illustrate and convey the theme of the museum to visitors,it is efficient to have an excellent interior space design of the museum,besides,other regionalism and advantages will be outstood in this way.The study on this perspective will explore the influence of interior space design in the museums on the display of the museum and the cultural diffusion.The museum design of a certain regional should be featured with local characteristics and outstanding regional cultural symbols.The local cultural elements should be adequately added into the interior space design,which will be an unique visiting card for its region.On the contrary,the general museum design without any local characteristics which could be found in every city cannot arouse sympathy or propel the cultural diffusion of others.With the fast developing of socio economy,cities are moving forward to diversity,yet the interior space designs of museums are quite similar with no local characteristics.As the result,the sole pursuit for the beauty in the form resulted in the rigidness and lack of humanity,the chase for the functional satisfactory led to the shortage of beauty,and the seeking for high-end fantasy by introducing the hi-tech with huge investments which consequently caused the omission over emotional experience of the visitors,all above are the common problems exist in the domestic museum interior space design.And because the museum is the cultural inheritor of a nation,a region,the theme of the museum would be better presented and the regional culture would be diffused only if the regional cultural elements were applied fully into the museum interior space design.This paper demonstrated the influence of regional cultural elements in the museum space design.Firstly,it elaborated the purpose and method of this study,then started with the relevant theories of regional cultures and museums,and analyzed the definition,features,formation,et cetera,which led to the presentation of the relation between the regional culture and the museum interior space design.The principles and techniques of expression of the regional cultural elements in space design were analyzed,which led to the maximizing of the regional cultural elemets.Taking the Zhouqu museum in Gansu province as an example,this paper embodied the application of regional cultural elements in museum space design by presenting various designs.As a result,the importance,necessity,and future developing trend of contemporary regional cultural elements in museum space design were elaborated by the combination of theories and cases.
