e-Navigation is a key research strategy put forward by IMO which represents the current and future directions in the field of navigation for a long time.At present there are so much international results on e-Navigation which are all accomplished under the e-Navigation architecture set by IMO.Yangshan port is an important part of Shanghai Pilot Free Trade Zone.It is also an important import and export port in China.Because of location,natural environment,characteristics of port,traffic flow and the berthing requirement of large ships,navigational safety guarantee facilities and services can not meet shore-based and ship-based users’ requirements.Based on previous result and standards released by IMO and IALA and analysis of the actuality of Yangshan port,navigational safety guarantee system for Yangshan port under e-Navigation architecture is designed and used as an e-Navigation testbed in China.Firstly,Basic theories about e-Navigation and navigational safety guarantee system are introduced.Concept,architecture and progress and requirements about the strategy of e-Navigation are described.Then concept of navigational safety guarantee system and its main content are briefly introduced.Secondly,Location,natural environment,characteristics of port,traffic flow and the berthing requirement of large ship s are analyzed.From the analysis,users and their requirements of navigational safet y guarantee system for Yangshan port are identified.And then system requirements are derived from gap analysis between requirements and actuality.On the basis of above analysis,research on overall architecture,logical architecture and shore-based architecture of navigational safety guarantee system for Yangshan port are put forward.Moreover,database and MSP are introduced.Finally,implementation of the system is introduced which includes improvement of the infrastructure,research on information service system and shore-based facility.Through analysis of the results,it can come to conclusion that the system can meet requirements of users,accord with the architecture of e-Navigation and achieve the goal of navigational safety guarantee.
