Research On The Reconstruction Design Of Old Industrial Buildings For Shopping Malls

After several decades of theoretical research and practical exploration of the old industrial buildings,China has accumulated some experience in the transformation of such old industrial buildings.In recent years,with the sustained and healthy development of China's economy,the demands for artistic experience and cultural diversity have been increasing among the people.The transformation of old industrial buildings has been tending to increase steadily;while a large number of old industrial construction projects are emerging,many problems have been exposed,such as inaccurate positioning,single transformation,lack of attractiveness and small profits from transformation.On the other hand,shopping malls and commercial complexes,as a major part of the modern urban life,are facing with enormous competition pressure and iteration speed with the rapid development of the cities.Only continuous upgrading and evolution can meet people's increasing demands for spiritual culture and life quality.Aiming at the current status for transforming old industrial buildings in China,referring to successful experience in foreign countries and taking advantage of our own specialties,this paper has provided sufficient research on interior design and transformation of old industrial buildings as shopping centers,so as to enrich the theory for transformation of old industrial buildings in our country.By making use of their characteristics and advantages,the old industrial buildings can be built into characteristic shopping centers and endowed with new functions,so as to regenerate the old industrial buildings and simultaneously promote the innovative development of the shopping centers.The organic combination of the two will help promote the urban development and improve the influence accordingly.This Paper is mainly divided into four parts to discuss the transformation of the old industrial buildings as shopping centers.First of all,it has clarified the research background and significance,the research contents and methods,the main innovation points and the paper framework;found out the problems in the transformation of the industrial buildings currently in China by researching the development and practices of the domestic and overseas relevant theories.Secondly,targeted analysis has been carried out,including the design analysis of the old industrial building transformed into shopping centers as well as the research on the transformation conditions,advantages,values,emphasis and difficulties,so as to lay a solid foundation for solving the relevant problems in the future.Afterwards,this Paper has focused on problem solutions by inductively analyzing the related excellent cases,utilizing the design methods of the modern shopping centers and summarizing the principles and methods for transforming old industrial buildings into shopping centers.Finally,it has focused on theoretical applications.The transformation strategy obtained from the relevant research has been applied to the practice for transforming the old factory buildings of the “Old Hefei Steel Plant” in Hefei,Anhui Province.It is hoped that the research in this Paper on the transformation design of the old industrial buildings as shopping centers can provide certain reference and help for follow-up relevant practices and researches.
