In recent years,more and more overpassed bridges have been constructed by using rotation method with developing of the rotation construction technique.For bridges for overpassing the railway line,they are often required to construct by using rotation method due to their impact on railway operationalsafety.The construction monitoring is essential during bridge rotating.At present,the rotation construction monitoring focused on straight-line beam,and the research on curvedbeam is insufficient.In this paper,some key technologies forrotation construction monitoring of curved beam were studied based on a practical engineering.The main contents of this paper are as follows:(1)The research objectives and significance of this study were presented based on the current development of the rotation construction.The existing rotation construction methods for bridges were reviewed.Besides,we conducted a comparison between the new ball joint with combination of steel and reactive powder concrete materials and the traditional steel ball joint.(2)The key design considerations in rotation construction system were analyzed,including the design of the bridge twist system,the ball joint design,the supporting lug andslide way design,the upper rotating plate design,the bottom rotating plateand its basement design,the pulling and pushing design,the positioning dowel design,and the temporary consolidation and sealing anchor protection design,etc.(3)Based ona practical engineering project,rotation construction monitoring of a curve bridge was conducted.Firstly,finite element model of a curved bridge with radius of 2000 m was established to calculate the stress and displacement of the controlled section.With the calculated results,the elevation in every construction phasecan be predicated.Then,the predicted values can be adjusted by the comparison of the measuredand calculated data.Therefore,the results can be used to guiderotation construction of the curved bridge.(4)The weighing experiments of rotating bridge with traditional steel ball joint and newball joint with RPC composite materials were performed.The experimental results showed that the newball joint with RPC composite materials had advantages of smaller volume and friction moment,which proved the better safety and stability of newball joint with RPC composite materials than traditional steel ball joint.(5)The structural features and advantages of the new ball joint with RPC composite materialswereconcluded.Then the finite element model of the ball joint with RPC concrete composite materials was established.Through numerical simulations,the stress and displacement of the ball joint under different upper weights and rotation angleswereanalyzed.
