As one of the unconventional water resources of atmosphere water vapor,air conditioning condensate does not exert its actual value and even brings negative social and environmental effects.The article tries to research the harvesting potential of air conditioning condensate water and treatment from the perspective of water quantity and water quality.On the basement of water quantity and water quality research,putting forward three ways of using air conditioning condensate as reclaimed water,cooling tower make-up water and drinking water,and also analyzing the theoretical economic benefits of the project.From the perspective of water quantity,air conditioning condensate in many areas of China has considerable potential for recovery.The rank and contour map of annual collectible water of provincial capital cities across the country basing on meteorological data from 1981to 2010 year indicate that the recovery potential of condensate water in various regions of China is basically the same as the climate zone.The higher dry air temperature and relative humidity of the atmosphere,the greater the amount of condensate water production.China is divided into five districts,as the greater value zone II,the middle value zone III,the smaller value zone IV,the small value zone V,according to two evaluation indicators of annual collectible water and per capita water resources.Guangdong Province,Hubei Province,Shanghai Municipality,Jiangsu Province and Henan Province are located in the greater recovery value zone II.Hubei Province,Tianjin City,Shandong Province,Beijing Municipality,Shanxi Province,Liaoning Province,Anhui Province,Zhejiang Province,Fujian Province,Guangxi Province,Hunan Province are located in the middle value zone III.Other provinces are located in the smaller value zone IV and the small value zone V.From the perspective of water quality,air conditioning condensate from somewhere in Beijing are tested in regular chemical ways and further analyzed.Regular chemical testing indicates that air conditioning condensate is in good quality with low conductivity,low turbidity,low color,high ammonia and certain organic and metal pollution.Besides nitrite concentration is much higher than nitrate concentration in condensate.Most of organics in condensate are water-soluble,low-aromatic,liquid-phase small molecules with the molecular weight cut of 1000.High aromatic organics mainly exit in medium and large molecular weight components.The macromolecule organic matters in the condensed water are mainly in the form of amino-like acids and soluble microbial metabolites.The volatile and semi-volatile small molecules are Silicones,alcohols,aldehydes,esters,phenols,phthalates.The principal component analysis method is used to analyze the source of condensed water pollutants and four principal components are obtained.In the first principal component,the three components F-,Cl-and NO2-have high loads,and the contribution is 34.541%.In the second principal component,the three components NO3-?SO42-and OC have high loads,and the contribution is 22.447%.In the third principal component,the two components Na and K have high loads,and the contribution is 16.538%.In the fourth principal component,the components of Mn have high loads,and the contribution is 10.962%.Based on quantity and quality analysis,air conditioning condensate can be used as reclaimed water and cooling tower make-up water directly with good economic benefits,and not be suggested as drinking water.
