A Study On The Application Of Historical Context In The Design Of The Gate Of The College

With the rapid development of economy,Colleges and universities are in the midst of constant adjustment,consolidation and expansion.The expansion and construction of new campuses are on the rise.The original campus can no longer meet the needs of development.The school gate,as an important part of the entrance space of colleges and universities,it not only determines the image and quality of the entrance,but also plays a comprehensive role through the combination of buildings,volume,shape and so on.Through the view of the architectural form and historical context of college entrance,this paper analyzes the design of university gate,and summarizes the deep culvert of university gate under its external form,and how to show the historical context of colleges and universities in the design.Using multidisciplinary research methods such as comprehensive semiotics,cultural anthropology and social behaviorism,this paper discusses the application of historical context in the design of university entrance.On the surface,this paper analyzes the function and form of university gate based on architecture theory.From the three angles of goodness,beauty and truth,it introduces the three main functions of college gate as campus transportation,service and image.And it points out the space form and composition elements adopted in the school gate space under the condition of satisfying the functional requirements.Then,it expounds the constitution rules of the university gate design.On the connotation,this paper briefly combs the important factors such as region,society,culture and so on,which affect the design of university entrance.It analyzes the influence of different historical contexts on the gate design of colleges and universities in the process of design,which can the different types of doors in colleges and universities,and it can promote the formation of different types of university gate.On the context,this paper explores the inheritance and innovation of historical context in the design of university gate,through the reproduction of cultural symbols,the presentation of cultural history and the innovative design method of cultural tradition,so as to achieve the organic combination of historical context and university gate design.Finally,This paper takes the East Gate of Hunan University of Technology as an example.Through the investigation and analysis of the historical context of the school,this author puts forward the idea of design,and also designs the gate of Hunan University of Technology which is in line with the development of the times and full of cultural background.accord with the development of the times,and applies the method of designing the doors of colleges and universities under the historical context to the design practice.It applies the design method of university gate under the historical context to the design practice.
