With the increasing prominence of energy and environmental issues, sustainable development of buildings has become a global focus, and developed and developing countries adopted different approaches in light of their own national conditions. For China,a country with large urban-rural development gap,high-tech construction techniques used in the modernization process are often difficult to implement on a large scale in rural areas with remote locations, rough roads, and regional culture.Relatively simple and conventional low-tech techniques, comparing with high-tech ones, are easier to apply and popularize in traditional villages. This paper takes low-tech used in Meishan rural construction as the research object.Through analysis and summary of domestic and foreign architectural examples, this paper sums up the common points and methods that are worth referring to in the application of low-tech.Geographical features of Meishan architecture are taken into consideration and application in analyzing and exploring economical,feasible,easy-to-operate,and suitable low-tech design strategies and methods for Meishan Cultural park,a carrier of Meishan culture. This paper is divided into five chapters, with the first describing background for topic selection, research content, and research methods, and defining related concepts. The second chapter analyzes and studies successful examples of low-tech construction application, both domestic and foreign ones, and summarizes general characters and methods for these cases. In the third chapter, analyses of geographic and humanistic environment of Meishan Cultural Park architecture are included.In-depth research of the characteristics of local, traditional and regional architecture, architectural forms, and construction methods are also included in this chapter to provide factual evidence for analyses of the next chapter.Chapter four, from a macro-medium-micro aspect, proposes low-tech architectural design methods suitable for sustainable development of Meishan Cultural Park, including building site selection, layout, spatial form, building components, and energy and resource conservation. The fifth chapter combines research in previous chapters and presents how low-tech methods are demonstrated in the design practice project of the Meishan Cultural Park.On the one hand,it promotes the sustainable inheritance of local traditional building techniques. And on the other,it also assists the protection, continuance, refinement and innovation of local rural architectural features under the influence of globalization. |
